October 09, 2015: Aditi Ashok survived a difficult second day at the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, battling gallantly to minimize the damage on Friday. Aditi shot two over 73 after a string of bogeys set her back early in the round. She is lying T46 at the halfway stage of the tournament. Korean Ha Na Jang took the 36-hole lead, shooting a 65 in the second round, to take her score to 10-under 132.

Aditi made a painful start – making a sequence of three bogeys to open her second round. She stemmed the rot with a birdie at the par-5 sixth hole, but the course pegged her back again forcing a bogey at the 8th hole.

She slipped to 3-over for the round when she bled her fifth bogey of the day at the eleventh hole. Aditi fought back with a pair of consecutive birdies at 13 & 14 before making four straight pars to end the day at one over.

Jang sprang to the top of the charts with a forceful performance in the second round. She shot seven birdies, five of them coming on the inward stretch to the clubhouse to stamp her authority over the field.

Michelle Wie struggled to replicate her form of the first day, signing on an even 72 to slip down to T18. Xi Yu Lin shot 68 to settle in second, one shot behind Jang at nine under.

There was a three way tie for third – Inbee Park (66), Yani Tseng (68) and Alison Lee (69) were a further shot back in T3.

Lydia Ko and Haru Nomura were both impressive on Friday. The two women had a surprisingly similar run through the first two rounds in Kuala Lumpur.

Ko followed through her 71 in the first round with a brilliant 65 in the second to edge inside the top ten.

Nomura matched Ko with her own version of a 71-65 sequence to join a four way tie for tenth.
