May 22, 2016: Brilliant one day, battling in the next round. This has the theme of Anirban Lahiri’s journey so far in his first full season on the PGA TOUR. After a rousing 65 on Friday to get inside the weekend competition, Lahiri suffered an up and down Saturday, working his way to a 71. Meanwhile, Brooks Koepka produced a solid round of golf to work his way to a two shot lead over Jordan Spieth in the AT&T Byron Nelson.

The Indian started on the back nine, with an even par on the tenth hole. But a double bogey six at the eleventh set him back very early in the third round.

Anirban made birdies at 13 & 15, but threw in a bogey on the very next hole on both occasions to neutralize their effect on his score.

He added a third bogey at the 18th just as he made the turn in 38 strokes. As is the norm with the resilient golfer, Anirban produced a far superior second nine.

The 56th ranked golfer started with a birdie at the first hole, before sandwiching a lone bogey on the stretch with a birdie on either side of it.

Anirban took just 33 shots on the front nine, on his way to the clubhouse. He finished the round at one over for the day. At 2-under 208, Anirban is lying in the bottom group, tied in 68th.

Koepka, playing alongside Spieth pulled way left on the first hole, suffering a bogey to start his day. But he produced four birdies in a six hole stretch to make a statement of intent.

The 19th ranked Koepka a clean back nine, firing three more birdies to make 65 and earn a handy lead ahead of the final round.

Spieth drove into the water at the 14th hole, but sank a 23 foot bogey putt to control any damage. Eventually, he scored a 67 and stayed firmly in contention.

Matt Kuchar climbed into third with a nice 65 on Saturday. He is tied with Bud Cauley and Sergio Garcia, both of whom shot 68.
