Good morning India to a brave new dawn. Anirban Lahiri has traveled where no Indian has before, playing some outstanding golf this week to finish T5 at the 97th PGA Championship. Lahiri played with great confidence on poise on Sunday to become the first ever Indian to finish T5 at a major championship in golf. The 28 year old Indian shot 4-under 68 in the final round to end the tournament at 13-under 275 (70-67-70-68).

Meanwhile, Jason Day not only captured his first major championship on Sunday. He won in record fashion.

Behind huge drives and minimal mistakes, Day carded a final-round 67 to finish with a major-record 20-under and a three-shot win at the 97th PGA Championship at Whistling Straits.

Day, the 28-year-old Aussie, didn’t give playing partner Jordan Spieth much hope.

Spieth finished six shots shy of the Grand Slam this season, winning the Masters and U.S. Open and also finishing T4 at The Open Championship.

He did, however, claim one title on Sunday: No. 1 golfer in the world.
