Anirban leads the Rolex rankings

Bangalore's Anirban has scaled to the top of the Professional Golf Tour's Rolex rankings in first quarter of current season.

April 19, 2014: Bangalore’s Anirban has scaled to the top of the Professional Golf Tour’s Rolex rankings in the first quarter of current season. Lahiri, who won season opening Ahmedabad Masters also finished twice within top 10 in three tournaments he played so far. His total earnings this season remains highest at Rs. 12,25,825.

 

Mithun Perera of Srilanka stands at No.2 in the Rolex merit after two wins in four tournaments he has played so far. The 27-year-old Srilankan won Standard Chartered Open and PGTI-Eagleberg Open in February. He ended tied 5th at recently held Cochin Masters. His prize money so far is Rs. 11,74,300 from four tournaments.

 

SriLanka’s K Prabagaran lies at third place on the earnings based rankings with Rs 9,83,975 from five tournaments. The 33-year-old Srilankan won PGTI-Players Championship and had four top 10 finishes during first three month of the season.

 

The 17-year-old Shubhankar Sharma of Gurgaon rose from 23rd to fourth position in Rolex rankings after his impressive maiden win at Cochin Masters. The youngster with Rs 9,83,700 earnings till now has registered three top 10 finishes this season.

 

Delhi’s Rashid Khan, who began this season on a positive note after winning first Asian Tour title, is yet to win a tournament on the local tour. However, 22-year -old has finished within top 10 in all the four tournaments he has played this season. With total prize earnings of Rs 8,50,900, Rashid is currently placed fifth on the Rolex Order of Merit.

 

Another one closing at sixth in the Rolex rankings is Kolkata’s Rahil Gangjee. Gangjee has three top ten finishes in all three tournaments he played so far.
