May 23, 2015: India’s Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha Singh continued to hold their ground in the BMW PGA Championship at the Wentworth Club. The two men produced rounds of 72 and 70 respectively in the third round of the European Tour event. After both Shiv Kapur and SSP Chawrasia missed the cut it is left to Lahiri and Jeev to keep the Indian flag flying in the Surrey suburb of Virginia Water.

Jeev started his day on the wrong foot, when he surrendered a shot at the first hole. But he recovered immediately to score a birdie at the par-3 second hole to restore parity.

The veteran golfer surrendered another shot at the par-4 sixth hole, to drop to one over. At the 8th hole on Friday, Singh suffered a double bogey and seemed to have learnt from the experience.

The Indian made a fine birdie at the par-5 to ensure he made the turn in an even 35 shots. Jeev made two birdies and two bogeys soon after he made the turn, getting even with the course with a birdie at the 15th hole.

But he finished with a gentle flourish when he made two consecutive pars before sinking an eagle at the par-5 18th hole to register his second eagle of the week.

After making par at the first hole, Anirban saw his fortunes swing one way and the other over the next five holes. The golfer from Bengaluru made two bogeys and three birdies before finishing the front nine with three pars to go 1-under through the front nine.

A couple of bogeys at the 12th and 13th saw Lahiri slip to one over with five holes to complete his third round. After four consecutive pars, he made a birdie at the final hole to sign off with an even 72 for the third straight day.

At the time of this report, Francesco Molinari was in charge of the leader stack with a two shot lead over Thongchai Jaidee. The Italian was at 13-under through 9 holes, while Jaidee was lying second at 11-under through 10 holes.
