20 September 2014: Karan Bharat, one of the leading junior golfers in Hyderabad, clinched the Category A boys title at the Lufthansa Junior Tour Golf Tournament held in the Hyderabad Golf Club on 14th September 2014. The contest featured some of the leading young school level golfers in the closely contested competition for fledgling boys and girls. The event was contested under the Stableford system across six categories.

Karan scored 23 points in the category A for boys. Under category B, Rahul Ajay won the contest with 30 Stableford points while Hardik Chawda trailed him by only 4 points to finish runner-up.

Navjay Jayaswal was the winner of the category C event after he scored 28 Stableford points to dominate his category. Suraj Joshi was runner-up in that category after he settled for seven points fewer than Jayaswal.

In the fourth category for boys, category D, Milind Soni clinched victory by a massive ten point margin. Soni won 21 points to just 11 for Shreyas Reddy, who finished a distant second to take the runner-up honours.

Among the girls, Sneha Singh took 23 points to win the (C+D) category. Teesha Singh was four behind, runner-up with 19 Stableford points. In category E, which is a combined event for both boys and girls, Praval Reddy was the winner. He took 11 points to outplay Alay Atmakuri who managed just six points.

There were also spot prizes for specific excellence among the children.  It was Bharat again that snared one of these honours. He won the award for closest to the pin by reaching within 2’6’’ from the pin with one of his drives. The contest for straight drive (on a rope) was won by P Aditya.

The event was a great success with parents egging on the young toddlers. Plenty of participation and oodles of young energy made the event a grand success and a lasting memory for those associated with it.
