April 23, 2014: Anirban Lahiri, who finished 10th in Maybank Malaysian Open last Sunday, looks upbeat about forthcoming CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters to be played in Jakarta from April 24-27.

After his remarkable feat, Lahiri returned to 102nd position in the world ranking. The 26-year-old, who finished fifth in Jakarta in 2012, is ready to strike back once again.

“I love playing at Royale Jakarta as we always get a warm welcome there. The event has grown over the years and it’s good to see it back,” Lahiri spoke on Asian Tour.

Apart from the great course, we’ve always had good international players coming over to play in the event, so all these things help make the tournament a very good one. I’m looking forward to having another strong week in Jakarta,” he added.

Lahiri contributed two crucial points for Asia at inaugural EurAsia Cup to finish at par with Europe last month.

Lahiri, a three-time Asian Tour winner is yet to taste a victory out side his home country. But his good form has given him confidence

“It has been a while since I’ve been playing well. I feel like I’m playing well enough to win. I just need to be patient and relaxed. I can’t get too far ahead of myself. That’s what I’ve learnt from last week,” Lahiri told Asian Tour.

His 10th place finish at Maybank Malaysian Open earned him US$50,966, which propelled him to fourth on the Order of Merit. He aspires to reach within top 50 in world rankings.

“I need to get up on the rankings as fast as I can. It was a good week to move up and I’m glad I played well over the last two days,”

The US$750,000 CIMB Niaga Indonesian Masters will tee off at the highly rated Royale Jakarta Golf Club this Thursday.
