Qatar Airways partners with PGTI

28 August 2014. New Delhi, India: Qatar Airways, the national carrier of the State of Qatar, today announced the signing of a prestigious partnership with Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), the official sanctioning body of professional golf in India. As part of the agreement, Qatar Airways becomes the ‘Official Airline Partner’ of the PGTI for a term extending until the end of 2015.

 

 

Qatar as a nation and Qatar Airways as a national airline support various sports globally in many ways and the award-winning airline is closely associated with popular sporting events and teams around the world. The airline has consistently supported various top golfing tournaments and the association with Professional Golf Tour of India will help to increase the popularity of the game among Qatar Airways’ fans and passengers in India contributing towards the growth of Indian professional golf.

 

Qatar Airways’ Country Manager India, Mr. Henry Moses said: “We are extremely pleased to partner with PGTI as it represents a further extension of Qatar Airways’ commitment towards various sporting events. In the last five years, PGTI has formed several strategic partnerships that have proved conducive for the sport. It has also developed a strong domestic format which has developed home grown talent to golf professionals like Anirban Lahiri, Shiv Kapur, Gaganjeet Bhullar, SSP Chowrasia, Rahil Gangjee and Rashid Khan who have successfully made the transition into the international level by emerging as the top names in Asia.
