Rory McIlroy is collecting trophies on and off the course

It seems Rory McIlroy is enjoying the fruits of being single and reaping the rewards of his winning touch. The Northern Irishman went to Old Trafford to spend some time with the Red Devils and their fans. The 25 year old carried his prized Claret Jug with him to share his joy with eager fans and some delighted stars. But that was not everything – a grainy picture of the golfing pro appeared in the Irish Independent, apparently snuggling up to a brunette at the Lowry Hotel. The young man was at his favourite club ahead of Manchester United’s game against Swansea and even though his team made a losing start, McIlroy himself was never short of the winning move.

It has been three months since the world No. 1 decided to part ways with his fiancée Caroline Wozniacki and it seems being single has left him feeling liberated on and off the course. McIlroy soared to the top of the world rankings and the FedExCup points table after a four week run that saw him nail titles at the Open Championships, WGC Bridgestone Invitational and the PGA Championship.

His accomplishments have come through a fierce determination and focused effort and those three straight victories stand testimony to his resolve. McIlroy decided to split from Wozniacki, apparently just to rededicate himself to golf, and the streak of victories seem to have vindicated his decision. With the job done on the course, he has perhaps turned his attention to some small indulgences to celebrate his recent success.

While the identity of the brunette, pictured in that shot by XposurePhotos.com is yet to be revealed, the suddenly single star has been linked to some other women in the past few weeks. Irish models Nadia Forde and Sasha Gale have been mentioned by the tabloid press as speculation runs riot about who might be the next woman to be courted by McIlroy.

The Independent has also reported that McIlroy was “spotted holding hands with a blonde friend,” earlier the same evening as he entered the Lowry with a group of friends. We may have to wait yet to learn where he may finally settle his attentions, it is clear McIlroy is exploring with the same prolific hunger that has been the hallmark of his recent success on the golf course.
