Dec 28, 2016: Jeev Milkha Singh is the elder statesman of Indian golf. The great athlete from Punjab has been flying the flag for Indian golf for nearly two decades. It is his exploits along with those of Jyoti Randhawa and Arjun Atwal that opened new vistas for Indian golf on the international stage.

At 45, Jeev could have easily have settled for a leadership role in the game. An intense Jeev was thoroughly honoured to lead the Asian team in the Eurasia Cup earlier this year.

The comeback is taking shape

But he is still hungry to rediscover his form and compete at the highest levels. After promising to work his way back, Jeev worked immensely hard for much of 2015 and 2016 to come good on his word.

He is doing just that with his recent endeavours on the Asian Tour. Jeev gave Gaganjeet Bhullar a run for his money, before conceding victory over the final stretch of the Indonesian Masters. We can look forward to one final hurrah from the great man in the next few years.
