21 July, 2016: India’s young boys are shining bright and creating a stir in the World Stars of Junior Golf 2016. Aadil Bedi is leading the page in the Boys 15-16 category while Shubham Jaglan is lying second in the Boys 11-12 category. Shobhit Gupta is lying tied sixteenth in the event’s 15-16 category too.

Aadil continued his dominant run of golf, racing to a six shot lead over the field. He shot 67 and 65 in the two rounds so far in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Aadil struck five birdies in the first round and added eight more in the second to take charge of his category on the Mountain course in Angel Park.

The top ranked Indian junior suffered just three bogeys in the 36 holes so far. Aadil made bogey at the 12th hole on Tuesday and two more on Wednesday at the 11th and 12th holes.

Over the first two rounds, Aadil scored seven birdies on the front nine and six on the back nine. In the second round, Aadil made two hattricks – one on either side to underline his dominance over the field.

The World Stars of Junior Golf is a three round competition. Shobhit was relatively sedate compared to his compatriot, but he did just enough to plant himself in the top twenty heading into the final round on Thursday.

Shobhit made a dozen bogeys against a lone birdie in his two scores of 76 and 71. The course is mountain course # 9, with par set at 71.

Shubham also played under par in both the rounds, scoring 70 and 69. But he is trailing the leader Wit Pitipat by ten strokes. The Thai golfer struck 14 birdies against a lone birdie in rounds of 64 and 65 as he took charge of the 11-12 category.

Shubham has struck eight birdies and five bogeys in his two rounds so far. But he looks set to finish in second, with a six shot lead over third placed Ivan Barahona, Jonas Appel and Sean Dominique Granada.

It is more than likely that the Indian boys will finish in their current position, continuing their good run on the international stage.
