February 10, 2017: Nicole Broch Larsen took centrestage in Australia with a stellar six under 67 in the second round of the Oates Vic Open. Aditi Ashok produced a battling 72 while Vani Kapoor settled for an even 73. Unfortunately, Amandeep Drall struggled for rhythm, dropping six shots in her 78 to miss the cut. Overnight leader Laura Davies slipped down the order with a 76 on Friday.

Australian Su Oh was the pick of the golfers in the second round, producing a brilliant 65. She rode her brilliance to tie in second with three other golfers.

Aditi kept her sheet clean for a second day running, playing with exceptional patience and control. The young Indian played the Beach Course on the 13th Beach Golf Links.

The lone birdie of Aditi’s round came at the par-5 fifth hole. Aditi made par at each of the other holes to finish the day at 4-under 142.

Vani began pretty well, shooting birdie at the very first hole. But Vani dropped shots at the 3rd and 14th holes to slip into over par territory.

At the par-5 18th hole, Vani regained her own with a fine birdie to end the day on a positive note. That birdie helped Vani sign off for the day with an even 73. She is currently lying in T46 at one under 145.

Amandeep had a difficult day on the Beach Course. She started on the tenth hole and slipped into dangerous territory soon as she dropped shots at 11 and 13.

Amandeep’s situation worsened when she picked up bogeys at the 18th before adding three more on her way home. The silver lining came in the form of a birdie at the 9th hole, but it was too little too late.

Spaniard Belen Mozo and American Amelia Lewis shot 66 in the second round to jump 36 spots into a tie for tenth spot.
