September 09, 2016: Aditi Ashok produced a steady performance on Friday to gain 25 spots in the ISPS Handa Ladies European Masters at the Hubbelrath Golf Club in Germany. The 18 year old Indian shot 69 in the second round of the tournament, undoing the damage suffered on Thursday with a 73. Aditi was 2-under 142, lying in T11 at the time of this report. Katie Burnett needed only a 70 to head into the weekend with a one shot advantage over In-Kyung Kim, who also shot 70.

Katie is leading at the halfway stage at 8-under 136, with Kim at 135. Lee-Anne Pace, runaway leader with a 65 in the first round, slipped to a 74 on Friday to drop three spots.

Spaniard Belen Mozo soared into contention, rising 49 spots to third, with a superb 64 in the second round. There was a four way tie for fifth place – Annabel Dimmock, Camilla Lennarth, Amelia Lewis and Angel Yin are all at 4-under 140.

Starting at the 10th tee, Aditi played well to start the round with three straight pars. She made her first birdie on the day at the 142 yard 13th hole.

Aditi made a bogey at the 14th hole in the first round, but there was no such slip on Friday. She surged up the order with a brilliant birdie at the 16th followed by an eagle at the par-5 17th hole.

Aditi took just 32 shots to race through her first nine holes, an improvement of six shots from her effort in the first round. Aditi needed 38 strokes on Thursday to navigate from the tenth through eighteenth holes.

The young Indian golfer conceded the first shot of the round, when she repeated a bogey at the 2nd hole, a par-3 195 yard test that she fell short on in the first round too.

But she made amends quickly, scoring a birdie on the very next hole to remain at four under for the round, three under overall.

Aditi made it two in a row, when she made her fourth birdie at the 371 yard fourth hole. But any hopes of a soaring finish were dashed quickly, with Aditi bleeding shots at the next two holes.

She made back to back bogeys at the fifth and sixth holes, par-3 and par-4 respectively. She ended the day with three straight pars, 37 shots needed for her second nine.
