September 11, 2016: Aditi Ashok continued her stunning run of success with a sensational top ten finish in the Ladies European Masters at the Hubbelrath Golf Club in Germany. The 59th ranked Indian produced a convincing effort this week, recovering from a first round 73 to finish T9 among an elite field of international golfers. Aditi ended the week with a three under 69 to add to her scores of 73-69-70. In-Kyung Kim produced a commanding final round performance to claim a five stroke victory over Belen Mozo.

Aditi began the final round lying in 10th place. She conceded a bogey at the very first hole, slipping to three under overall. Aditi steadied herself with a couple of pars, before making her third birdie of week at the par-4 fourth hole.

Back to even par for the round, Aditi reached the turn without any further drama, making pars through the ninth hole.

Needing to push ahead to secure her place among the top ten, Aditi made a move at the tenth hole. After a hat-trick of even pars, the 18 year old got to six under par with her third birdie of the day at the par-4 14th hole.

The 10th and 14th holes were both her undoing in the first round this week and the turnaround in the final round represented how Aditi made amends after a disappointing opening round.

The 17th hole has been a favourite hunting spot for Aditi this week. She made an eagle at the 476 yard par-5 in the second round and added a birdie there on Saturday. Aditi continued her good run at the hole with another birdie in the final round.

At 7-under with just the 18th to play, it was enough for the Indian to essentially secure her place in the top ten this week. Aditi tied for 8th place with Caroline Hedwall, Angel Yin and Ursula Wikstrom.

Laura Davies, Melissa Reid, Amelia Lewis and Georgia Hall tied in twelfth place, two strokes behind Aditi’s group.
