25 November 2021: Seven golfers are within three strokes of each other at the Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club. An eventful second day in the 13th leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour witnessed some spectacular golf from a tightly bunched field. Amandeep Drall worked her way to the top of the leaderboard with a 67. Seher Atwal remained just one of three golfers who stayed under par in both rounds, a 69 helping her gain a share of the lead.
Amandeep was rampant in the second round, shooting six birdies in eleven holes between the third and thirteenth holes. Her lone blemish came at the par-4 tenth hole.
The Bakshi sisters were spotless on Thursday. Hitaashee Bakshi shot a soaring 65, a ten shot swing from a disappointing 75 in the opening round. Her 65 is a ladies course record at Boulder Hills and one of the best rounds of WGAI’s 2021 season.
She made four birdies in the last six holes for a thrilling surge up the order to T3.
Jahanvi Bakshi is keeping her company at 4-under 140. The younger sister added a 68 to her opening 72, lying just one shot off the leaders.
Saaniya Sharma and Pranavi Urs stayed below par for the second day running. The former began the day with a bogey on the first hole, but worked diligently through the rest of the round to secure a 70, lying in fifth with overnight leader Vani Kapoor.
Vani followed her first round 67 with a painful 74 in the second round to reach the final round two strokes off the pace. Pranavi shot a 71 with a bogey and two birdies in the second round.
