A pair of Aussies are atop the 97th PGA Championship. Jason Day and Matt Jones shared the lead at 9 under before second-round play was suspended by a violent round of thunderstorms at Whistling Straits.

Both Day and Jones were 5 under in their second rounds. Justin Rose was in third place at 8 under, 5 under for the day through 17 holes. Day came in beaming with confidence, saying Wednesday that he wouldn’t trade his nine top-10s in majors for one major victory. (Read more in Golf)

“Sooner or later it’s going to happen,” Day said. “I know that.”

The second round will resume at 7 a.m. local time. The third round will begin 30 minutes after the completion of the Round 2.

India’s Anirban Lahiri was T15 with just five holes of play left for the second round. Having teed off the 10th, he picked birdies on 11, 16th and 3rd.
