European Tour, 31 May 2019: Anton Karlsson maintained momentum on day two of the Belgian Knockout to take top billing in Section B at Rinkven International Golf Club.

The Swede had been the best of the entire field in round one by two shots after a 63, and a 68 on Friday moved him to 11 under.

Gaganjeet Bhullar golf player may have left it too late as he mounted a bid to enter the weekend. The Indian produced five birdies in a second round 68, but he was lying in T66, with no chance of making the knock out stages of this hybrid event.

The top 32 players from each half of the draw advance to the weekend, with six rounds of nine-hole knockout stroke play facing the remaining 64.

South African Justin Walters easily secured his place with a 67 that left him at nine under, one shot clear of Spaniard Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, who carded a 69.

Malaysia’s Gavin Green fired a 66 that moved him away from danger and to seven under alongside England’s David Horsey and in-form Scot Robert MacIntyre.

Defending champion Adrian Otaegui bogeyed four of his first six holes to risk elimination but a birdie on the last saw him sign for a 72 and finish one shot out a nine man play-off for 11 players to get the Section down to 32.
