June 26, 2014. Arshdeep Tiwana has won the PGTI Feeder Tour event at Karnal by one stroke. The Gurgaon lad birdied the 18th to complete the tournament at 10-under 194 and take the title. Akshay Sharma had the best round of the day, six under 62, as he surged up the chart to take second. Sharma finished the week at 9-under, one stroke ahead of Dinesh and Gulfam. Md Nawab and Bikramjit Singh finished T-5 a further shot behind at 7-under 197.

Tiwana dropped a shot when he made two bogeys in three holes, but recovered brilliantly to post four birdies on the back nine to sail into the overall lead. His success this week was built on a solid first round when he made 63 to set the tone in Karnal.

Akshay Sharma made the turn in 32, courtesy two birdies and an even number of bogeys, but caught spectacular fire on the way to the clubhouse. In fact, Sharma made four straight birdies starting at the tenth as he toasted his way into the clubhouse with an impressive 62 to finish second.

The first round leader Dinesh Raghuvanshi had a sober round that was tarnished by bogeys at the 3rd and 17th holes. He settled for 66 that was only good enough for T-3 with Gulfam. The latter had a fabulous day, making seven birdies to get inside top four.

Suleman Ali and Aditya Bhandarkar helped themselves into contention with 62s on Wednesday, but both men were relatively flat in the final round to make any further impact. Ali stumbled to 1-over 69 and Bhandarkar settled for a 67 to tie for tenth with three other men.

Tiwana was presented a trophy and a cheque for Rs. 76,290. Akshay Sharma took home Rs. 64,290 while Gulfam and Dinesh settled for Rs. 37,290 each.
