May 23, 2017: Barack Obama is wasting no time recharging his batteries after an eventful eight-year stint in the White House. While the Donald Trump administration is caught up in an unending circuit of skullduggery, Obama is away in Italy enjoying a soothing vacation with his wife Michelle.

Meanwhile Trump is having his wrists slapped by Melania, who refused to take his hand on their first trip overseas. That video has gone viral, bringing the President more disrepute. Obama on the other hand is playing statesman playing golf and charming his hosts on his trip to Tuscany.

TMZ reported on the Obamas’ relaxing sojourn to Italy, including exclusive pictures of the couple on the streets of Tuscany and on the exclusive Castiglion del Bosco resort course.

The former president was clearly relishing his holiday, both on and off the course. Obama has been known to be an ardent golfer, making several trips to the course even during his time in the Oval office.

Obama has started to make his way back into the public life, with a series of speeches recently. He spoke at the University of Chicago in April, followed by an address to the Global Food Innovation Summit in Milan, Italy.

“People have a tendency to blame politicians when things don’t work,” Obama said, in a not so veiled reference, perhaps, to the situation in his own country, more than that of Italy.

“But as I always tell people, you get the politicians you deserve. And if you don’t vote and if you don’t participate and if you don’t pay attention, then you’ll get policies that don’t reflect your interests.”

Obama’s interest in golf though shows no signs of waning. The former president enjoys the serene walk around the course as well as the odd bit of driving around in the buggy.

As a president, he was denied the pleasure of piloting his own buggy, as presidents are not allowed to do so. He is now free to indulge himself on the buggy besides having a good time with his friends on the course.
