September 30, 2016: Birthday boy Chikkarangappa shot 74 in the second round of the Taiwan Masters, conceding ten places into a tie for 19th position. Chiragh Kumar slipped six spots to T29, making 73 in the second round. Thai golfer Panuphol Pittayarat enjoys a two stroke lead over Miguel Tabuena, Lin Wen-tang and Danthai Boonma. The former shot 68-70 while the Filipino golfer made a pair of 70s in the first two rounds at the Taiwan Golf and Country Club. Scoring has been difficult this week at the pristine course, with only the top ten golfers lying under par.

Chikkarangappa battled through another difficult day on the course, making two birdies alongside a pair of bogeys and a painful double bogey at the par-4 fourth hole.

Chikkarangappa was one under overnight, but fell to even par soon as he started his round, with a bogey at the first hole. The golfer from Bengaluru erased the blemish with a birdie at the second hole, but suffered a two shot dent two holes later.

A bogey at the 15th hole and a birdie at the very next hole nullified each other as Chikka reached the clubhouse at one over 145.

Chiragh Kumar made birdies at the third and fifteenth holes, but suffered three bogeys along the way in his one over score of 73.

Himmat Rai slipped down the order to T42, shooting 78, courtesy a poor start. He made even par on Thursday, but three bogeys in the first four holes dragged Himmat Rai into troubled waters.

Shubhankar Sharma moved into 32nd place after shooting a resilient 73 in the second round. Rashid Khan suffered a disqualification for a rules infringement. Our request to the Asian Tour for details hasn’t yet been answered at this time.
