A stellar field of 108 golfers from 30 countries are eagerly awaiting sunrise at Delhi Golf Club, amidst peacocks and bluebulls to be a part of history. That’s the effect the club can have on you. The Hero Women’s Indian Open makes its debut after its six initial editions at DLF Gurgaon. What a debut this promises to be. Twists, turns and trees of the course will get the best women golfing talent a test they have not faced before. Surely such moments make any tournament special.

Women’s golf in India has seen a phenomenal rise in past one decade and Hero Women’s Indian Open, which was established in 2007 has been instrumental in giving it necessary boost. The rising numbers of female golfers is adding pride to the efforts of Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI).

Hero Women’s Indian Open came into existence with an initiative by Ladies Asian Golf Tour and WGAI in 2007. In the year 2010, Ladies European Tour joined hands to make the tournament one of the most prestigious events of Women’s golf in the region. For its true welcoming weather conditions, November was chosen as the appropriate season for staging the event.

This year the early morning mist, the greenery abound in the heart of Mughal Delhi as witnessed by the tombs of unknown princes within the premises of the golf club and just the forest shrubbery will give players a chance to enjoy and not just compete in golf.
