Siddharth Naik on golfing for the record books

Several records for passionate golfing duo

2657

In June 2014, we, Brijesh Patel and I (Siddharth Naik ) of Ahmedabad began with Mark Twain’s maxim – “The secret of getting ahead is, getting started.” We got our names etched in the Limca Book of Records for playing the most number of holes in a day (182 holes). That taste of success motivated us to design our next golfing record. On 24th June 2015 the ‘Super Day’, we had our most memorable record breaking golfing experience of playing non-stop from 5.47 am to 6.15 pm on ten different golf courses in Ahmedabad. The ten golf courses were :

  1. Army AEPTA Golden Katar
  2. MSC South Western Air Command
  3. BSF Lions Golf Course
  4. Parbat Ali BDE
  5. Aalloa Hills Resort Golf Course
  6. Cambay Golf & Spa Resort
  7. The Belvedere Golf & Country Club
  8. Kalhaar Blues & Greens Golf Club
  9. Gulmohar Greens Golf & Country Club
  10. Kensville Golf & Country Club

Exactly five months after that ‘Super Day’on 24th November 2015 we received our second official certificate from the Limca Book of Records. Needless to say, we feel highly fulfilled and happy. We are also awaiting response from the GWR (Guinness World Record) to whom we have sent all the documents of evidence.

Winning And Learning
Winning And Learning

Is Golfing is all about setting new world records for us? No, not at all! But to pursue the cherished dream of being among the best golfers in the country, every ardent golfer needs to find ways to keep the enthusiasm, interest and persistence alive. We have found our way! In the midst of all the toil and hard work to master skills and play better we continue our work of spreading awareness about Golf, supporting and encouraging local newcomers and also set new personal goals for ourselves. Our next goal is to do a ‘Hat Trick’- a third Limca Record! We are looking at ways to play an amazing feat that would not only take us beyond the boundaries of Ahmedabad but also enable us to inspire the next generation of young golfers to realise how, being an excellent golfer can even turn one into an excellent player of the ‘game of life’.
