India’s heritage golf club getting set to usher a legendary player
While the rest of the world brings in ”The year of the Horse’, the Heritage Delhi Golf Club in India’s bustling Capital may well be celebrating the year of a Tiger.
There’s a buzz in air but a hush in the Woods – the Charming Peacocks were not calling this afternoon. A senior club member sent out an email to his golfing mates wondering whether his sunset years would liven up in the coming days to a Tiger’s prowl. Members have been curiously waiting with great enthusiasm to hear the real news- the construction of grandstands and club notices to welcome an iconic player – shall we say the buzz IS now ROARING!
Having seen several iconic players being humbled by the treacherous wooded fairways on Delhi Golf Club’s Lodhi Course, our esteemed guest will have enough opportunity to enjoy his day out since he will be on the course on an invitation from India’s true sporting Hero Pawan Munjal.
A special day is on the anvil for club members who are in for a grand treat from the world’s largest two wheeler manufacturing company as it sets to unveil surprises for yet another global landmark!
Will it be Hot lemon tea and Masala Omelettes or Masala Tea and Samosas -will the weather gods oblige during this fog stricken climate? Will the peacocks at least peek out to bless this legend? Will Tiger catch the birds attention or will the birds get his? Will a shot miss the fairway and land in the woods? Will he take a mulligan or the flouted DGC ‘pull out’ as is done on cold mornings? So many questions. What a great contest this will be – Tiger Woods vs Delhi Golf Course.
