Nov 28, 2013. Having played at the Delhi Golf Club so many times in the past is something you carry with you as you enter the game. And so there I was, going into my round with this advantage and I thought that really helped. The confidence that I got playing here with great support from my family and friends was extraordinary. I started my round with a birdie on the 1st which itself was exhilarating as I felt the first few shots can pace your mood and the game you deliver. My recent consecutive wins on the domestic tour have been rewarding both for my golf and my confidence and so I was thrilled to carry those two extra ‘clubs’ in my bag!

The mist in the morning does affect the ball as it does not roll much on the fairways and the greens play much slower but at the same time the wind is less in the morning as compared to the afternoon. I was paired with Beth Allen of United States and Ann Kathrin Lindner. I loved my three ball. It was fun playing with them as we kept chatting throughout the round and I am looking forward for tomorrow’s round with them. Playing at Delhi Golf Club and knowing every nuance of it is definitely having an edge over others. We know how to tackle the course, where to attack and where to play safe. More then anything else it gives me more confidence which helps me a lot.

I had a near clean first nine barring the fact that I had bogeyed the 6th but it was made up for by my birdie on the 7th. Of course I would not have liked those two blots on the back nine – bogeys on 14th and 16th. The course is playing in great conditions, the fairways are rolling well and the greens are very true just the way I like it. To top it the weather is at its best. I am happy with the way I played. My game is looking good and I do look forward to some good golfing over the next 2 days.
