England’s Danielle Montgomery is a Professional Golfer on the LET. She loves to stay fit and healthy. Her motto in life – we are what we think of ourselves so always think great! In this exclusive chat ahead of the Hero Women’s Indian Open 2013, Montgomery shares the secrets to her game, expectations from Delhi and all things Indian.

[Q] How does it feeling playing at the Hero Women’s Indian Open again? [/Q]

[A] I love playing the event. I have played the event 4 times now so this is will be my 5 time. I wouldn’t usually travel to India so we are very fortunate that we get to return each year to play. [/A]

[Q] What’s the nicest thing about coming to India? [/Q]

[A] It’s strange to say but it feels like such a magical place. The courses are oasis’s within the city so it’s really special that we get to play on them. Also since this is now my 5th year it is incredible to see all the infrastructure that’s has built up. I remember when there was nothing around the DLF golf course and now there is every major hotel and company set up there. Plus I love the food so that always brings me back 🙂 [/A]

[Q] What’s the most inspiring part about playing with other global names? [/Q]

[A] It’s great to be able to play along side them and see how they play. It can only make you a better player so I am very fortunate to have these opportunities. [/A]

[Q] How do you make the most of such an opportunity? [/Q]

[A] I just try to observe as much as I can and take what I can from that ie, How they practice, play and behave around the event. [/Q]

[Q] It’s being played at the Delhi Golf Club – how comfortable are you with the course? [/Q]

[A] I have never played there but I have watched the men play it on TV. It looks beautiful but also very tight off the tee so it’s going to be a good challenge. [/Q]

[Q] If you had a choice to be paired with someone who would you choose? [/Q]

[A] Out of the ladies? Any of them really. We are all quite close so I enjoy spending time with a lot of the players so I don’t mind 🙂 [/A]

[Q] What’s the most daunting part about playing in a world class tournament like this? [/Q]

[A] I’ve played quite a few now all over the world so I don’t have any concerns, only focus on the possibilities that may come from it 🙂 [/A]

[Q] What are your plans for food and sight seeing? [/Q]

[A] We get spoilt with food at the course so I really look forward to the lunches we get:) I really want to go into Delhi this time too. It’s terrible but in my 4 previous visits I have not been into the city once. I also really want to go to the Taj Mahal but I may have to save that for next time now. [/A]
