New Delhi 22 November, 2013: Gwladys Nocera will be the player to watch when she tees up in the Hero Women’s Indian Open at Delhi Golf Club from November 28-30.

The latest Ladies European Tour winner, who won her 12th title at the recent Suzhou Taihu Ladies Open in China, will be the top draw in what promises to be an exciting contest in the sun.

Nocera won the EMAAR-MGF Ladies Masters at Eagleton Golf Resort in Bangalore in 2007 and has already collected two titles on the LET this season, with her first win in four years at the Slovak Open. She is now riding high at fourth on the ISPS HANDA Order of Merit and really taking pleasure from her golf.

“I really enjoy India and they always make a really nice tournament. I won in 2007 and have good memories there so it’s always a good feeling and finishing the season with India and Dubai is really nice so I’m very much looking forward to it,” said Nocera, who is up for seeing the sights and sounds of the Indian capital.

“I will probably do a bit of sightseeing. I don’t like to stay in the hotel room. I like to look around the countries I visit.”

Also included in the field is Ladies European Tour (LET) stars Charley Hull and Holly Clyburn, battling for the Rolex Rookie of the Year title, along with a number of this year’s tournament champions such as Marianne Skarpnord and Ann-Kathrin Lindner.

The US$ 300,000 (Euros 225,000) event – tri-sanctioned by the Ladies European Tour (LET), the Ladies Asian Golf Tour (LAGT) and Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) – for the first time will be hosted at the historic Delhi Golf Club on November 28 to 30, will have a stellar playing field of 108 golfers from more than 30 countries.

Though the final list of golfers will be known as the tournament dates come closer, confirmations have also been received from Sharmila Nicollet, who is the youngest Indian to have qualified for the LET, current Hero Order of Merit leader Neha Tripathi and Smriti Mehra, a former LPGA player. Young stars like Vani Kapoor, Saaniya Sharma and Ankita Tiwana will also be adding strength to the Indian challenge at the event.
