Four places in the 149th Open on offer at the SMBC Singapore Open

Four players who finish in the top 12 and ties at the SMBC Singapore Open who are not already exempt will earn places in The 149th Open.

Jan 14, 2020: The 149th Open will be played at Royal St George’s from 12-19 July 2020.

The Open is golf’s original championship. Played since 1860 on iconic links golf courses, it is the sport’s most international Major Championship with qualifying events on every continent. For one week each year, the pursuit of the famous Claret Jug trophy is the focus of the sporting world, followed globally by millions of fans.

Four players who finish in the top 12 and ties at the SMBC Singapore Open who are not already exempt will earn places in The 149th Open at Royal St George’s from 12-19 July 2020.

The SMBC Singapore is the third event in The Open Qualifying Series and will be played over the Serapong Course at Sentosa from 16-19 January.

In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) at the beginning of the week commencing 13 January will be awarded a place in The 149th Open.
