Four players nominated for PGA Tour player of the year Award

Aug 29, 2019: Following Sunday’s conclusion of the TOUR Championship and the FedExCup Playoffs, nominees for PGA TOUR Player of the Year and PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year were finalized by the PGA TOUR Player Directors and members of the Player Advisory Council (PAC).

The nominees for the Jack Nicklaus Award as the PGA TOUR Player of the Year are (alphabetically) Brooks Koepka, Matt Kuchar, Rory McIlroy and Xander Schauffele. The nominees for the Arnold Palmer Award as the PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year are Cameron Champ, Sungjae Im, Adam Long, Collin Morikawa and Matthew Wolff.

The Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards are determined by a member vote, with PGA TOUR members who played in at least 15 FedExCup events during the 2018-19 season eligible to vote. The voting will close on Friday, September 6, at 5 p.m. ET. The winners will be announced at a later date.

This is the first year the PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year will receive the prestigious Arnold Palmer Award, named in honor of Golf’s Greatest Ambassador. Throughout his career, Mr. Palmer set the standard for character, good sportsmanship and professionalism both on and off the golf course. The Arnold Palmer Award is a tribute to its namesake’s influence on countless young players and a fitting honor for its recipients, who will shape the game and the PGA TOUR for generations to come.
