September 30, 2016: Gaganjeet Bhullar produced a sensational 66 on Friday to surge into a tie for fourth at the Bears Best Cheongna Golf Club. Bhullar made all fourteen fairways in the second round and 14 of 18 greens in regulation to set up his climb into contention for the Shinhan Dongae Open title. Thai star Thitiphun Chuayprakong soared into a one shot lead, on the back of a brilliant 64. Overnight leader Byeonghun An was lying two back with nine holes left to play.

Gaganjeet Bhullar produced as many as seven birdies in the second round – four on the front nine and three on the return stretch. He suffered two blemishes – one at the ninth hole and a second at the 16th hole to account for his 66. Gaganjeet Bhullar made 68 in the first round.

Khalin Joshi remained firmly inside the top ten with a battling 69. The young golfer sandwiched a bogey at the third between birdies that came in at the second and fourth holes.

Khalin Joshi went through a stretch of eleven straight pars from there before adding a third birdie at the 16th hole. Khalin also had a 68 to his name in the first round.

The cut is projected to be anything below 1-over with plenty of golfers still on the course. Jyoti Randhawa was lying even par through five holes.

Shiv Kapur seemed set to suffer a missed cut on his return to action. The Delhi golfer produced a greatly improved performance on Friday, adding a 69 to his first round score of 76, but at +3, he is unlikely to make the weekend.

Rahil Gangjee also showed progress, adding a 70 to his 75 yesterday, but he could only match the score of Shiv, which may not be enough to make the cut.

Arjun Atwal will need a solid round in the 60s to stay on for the weekend. The Florida resident is working his way back from a 73 on Thursday. He was also 3-over through seven holes.

Jeev Milkha Singh withdrew from the tournament owing to physical discomfort. He shot 75 in the first round, playing through ill health.
