One of India’s most prolific golfers Neha Tripathi set course on a new innings by tying the knot with boyfriend Jeevan Nedun. Neha got married looking resplendent in Indian attire, a green saree. The wedding took place in Kalapet, in Puducherry.
GOOD YEAR
Neha Tripathi has had a good start to the year as well as she picked a win at Ahmedabad in the first leg of the Women’s Pro Tour. Neha also picked full status to play on the Ladies European Tour after finishing T25 in the final Stage of the Ladies European Tour’s Lalla Aicha Tour School in Morocco.
TURNING PRO
Neha turned pro in 2009 has been playing consistently on tour. She topped the WGAI Order of Merit in 2013 but since has made it to the top three mostly. The Kolkata girl, in her mid twenties revised the status on her Facebook page to ‘Married.’
HOW IT STARTED
She was 11 years old when she picked up golf. Her original interest was in badminton but then when she saw her dad play golf, Neha went to the course to experiment. She played a few shots and fell in love with the game. “I turned pro when I was 18.” Anitya Chand at the DLF Academy is Neha’s coach and they jointly decided for Neha to go pro. Neha is pretty close to a few girls on the tour, even though on the course they competitors. Saaniya Sharma, Ankita Tiwana are among her besties.
PRACTISE MAKES HER PERFECT
During summer she mostly spends time practising on the course. An average of four hours of training, mental ability, yoga and other things are key for her. But then as the season begin Neha intensifies her course work.
