Gurbani Singh wins Indonesian Amateur

Gurbani has been in pretty rich form of late. She had won the ninth leg of the Hero Women's Professional Golf Tour in end June.

India’s Gurbani Singh was triumphant in the 31st Indonesia Ladies Amateur Open Golf Championship at the Padang Golf Sukajadi golf course, in Batam, Indonesia.

She shot 74, 74, 76 to be the champion. Her total of 8-over 224 was enough to give her the title ahead of Ribka Vania, who totalled 16-over 232. Juriah was third with 19-over 235.

The Championship was played in line with The R & A Rules Limited, PGI hard card, and with the local rules approved by the organising committee.

Gurbani has been in solid form of late. She had won the ninth leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour in end June. There she had beaten a strong field and had played a flawless final round of three-under 69. In the process, she also became the first amateur to win in the Tour this season.

Gurbani is the highest ranked Indian woman in World Amateur Rankings and the only one in top-100. She was the youngest Indian ladies National amateur champion at 13 years. Some of her notable triumphs are Evian Masters Juniors Cup 2010 title, the Sri Lankan Open 2011 and the Asia Pacific Junior Championship 2012. She has represented India in 27 International events.
