Sep 03, 2019: Like good wine, Tvesa Malik is getting better with each passing year. After some recent run of successes on the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour, Malik will be looking to carry her form over to the DLF Golf & Country Club and post another memorable performance in the Hero Women’s Indian Open

Q1. You must be happy to be here again. The Women’s Indian Open last year must have left you some good memories?

It is really exciting for us to have it here every year because so many of us practice at DLF and the course is absolutely wonderful. This event is getting bigger and better every year and because it is the Indian Open, it means a lot to us.

Q2. How did this season go for you?

I have had the chance luckily to compete in quite a few events on the European Tour so far. I am still waiting to perform the way I’d like so I am trying to get as many events as I can. However, that said, I have been happy with my game. I have also played a couple of events in the WGAI which have been good for me. Still lots of work to be done and just waiting to find my comfort zone in events outside of India.

Q3. How do you feel about your stunning stint in the Indian Open last year as you landed on the top from the Indian contingent?

It is very encouraging because the course is a tough track to play even though we practice there. So, it kind of makes me feel like I can do it. I am happy that I had a good finish last year and I am hoping to build on it this year.

Q4. How often did you get to play on the DLF course after the Indian Open?

I practice at DLF so I feel quite lucky that way but I don’t think you can ever be prepared for DLF. You can play there a bunch of times and it is still challenging. I play there a lot and I still find it extremely tough. But of course, it helps to play the course. It will help to know as much as I can know about it.

Q5.  What do you think is the big transition needed when you play on the Ladies European Tour? Our golfers, with the exception of Aditi Ashok, haven’t been able to make a big impression yet?

Diksha Dagar won this year and she has been doing really well in the events we have had this year so that was very encouraging and motivating to see not just for me but for everyone out here. I think everyone is capable of it but it is just a matter of finding your comfort zone there and being able to realize that you can do it. Diksha’s win helped all of us to realize that it can be done and it has only been growing and it’s going to happen more and more now.
