January 24, 2015: Indian golfers Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur enjoyed contrasting Sunday rounds to end their week in T38 at the Qatar Masters. Jeev produced the better effort, shooting two under 70 in the final round to edge inside the top 40. Kapur though failed to reproduce his early round form, firing a 73 to finish at five under 283 for the week. Both men though finished ahead of the defending champion, who finished a disappointing 46th at 4-under 284. (Read more in Golf)

After a logjam at the front end, it appeared that the Qatar Masters 2015 might just be decided on a play off involving Branden Grace and Marc Warren who were both tied at 18-under through 17 holes.

Singh started his Sunday with a birdie at the first hole. The veteran Indian was a pleased man even as he progressed through his final round, having suffered a horrid 2014, when he spent most of the year struggling to make the cut.

Though a bogey at the par-4 fourth hole set him back to even terms with the course, he made consecutive birdies immediately after making the turn to consolidate his position with another 70, the third this week.

In stark contrast, it was an up and down effort from the 32 year old Kapur, eleven years junior to his compatriot. The 243rd ranked Kapur began with a bogey five at the second hole as he worked his way from his overnight score of 6-under.

Kapur completed his first nine holes in 37 shots, including three bogeys and two birdies. Already down a shot for the day, Kapur embraced safety on his way back to the clubhouse. A bogey at the par-3 13th was taken care with a compensating birdie at the 16th hole.

Kapur signed off with a 73, his highest score in a week that was brought alive by a 68 in the second round. 43 year old Singh will be a relatively more content golfer having lasted through the weekend for the first time since the KLM Open in September last year.
