Sep 2, 2016:  Romain Langasque of France fired a stunning seven-under-par 63 to seize the early second round lead at the Omega European Masters on Friday.

The Frenchman played without any pressure as he is guaranteed an European Tour card for next season as he leads the Challenge Tour rankings. He returned with a nine-under-par 131 total at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

Alex Noren of Sweden matched Langasque’s effort of 63 to trail by one shot while Andrew Johnston of England was a further shot back following a 68 at the €2.7 million (approximately US$3 million) event sanctioned by the Asian Tour and European Tour.

Langasque, playing in only his fifth European Tour event, said: “I’m quite sure I will be on the European Tour next year so I play without pressure. If I play good that’s cool and if I play bad then it is no problem. I have nothing to lose. I have no pressure and maybe that’s why I can play good.

“My hopes for the weekend? Win. I will try my best to win. Most important is to have fun all the time,” he added.
