Sep 3, 2016: French rising star Romain Langasque stormed into a share of the halfway lead at the Omega European Masters after a seven under par 63, the joint best round of the day, moved him to the top alongside experienced campaigners Richard Bland and Richard Green.

The 21 year old currently leads the European Challenge Tour’s Road to Oman Rankings, having turned professional following an appearance at the Masters Tournament in April, and he continued to prove why is one of European golf’s most exciting talents in Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club.

“I’m really happy about this round. My driving and putting was really, really good. It is good to play well on this course. I enjoyed my round. I was very happy with a two under round yesterday and I was thinking that I will have good greens and less wind for good scoring today”, said Langasque.

The 2015 Amateur Champion registered five birdies and an eagle, at the par five 14th hole, to move to a nine under total, where he was later joined by Englishman Bland (64) and three-time European Tour winner Green (66) of Australia.

“Hopefully I can sneak up into that top 30 in the Race to Dubai and guarantee myself an Open spot next year, and improve my world ranking, which I’m trying to do. Suddenly those doors start opening so I’m looking forward and enjoying my golf.”, said Richard Bland.

Alex Noren’s search for a sixth career title and a second of the season, following his Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open victory in July, gathered pace as he also carded a stunning 63 to sit one shot off the lead on eight under, alongside Canadian Richard T Lee (65) and Australia’s Scott Hend (67).

“I like this type of course where you have to think a little bit off the tees. You get a lot of chances but you need to hit a lot of nice wedges. I think it is very enjoyable for us players. My family and my baby girl is here. My parents are here for the first time. It is nice to show them where we work this week.”, said Alex Noren.
