July 10, 2013. As Indian movie buffs eagerly await the release of much talked about movie on India’s veteran athlete, Mikha Singh, his golfer son wishes the picture left lasting impression on Indian youth.

“There are two very good reasons I am extremely excited about this week: I have the honor of defending my Scottish Open title and the much-awaited movie on my dad and former top athlete, Milkha Singh, is being released worldwide on July 12.”

Jeev has seen the uncut version of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag a few days ago.

“This movie is going to leave a deep impression on the viewers. I cannot say anything about its commercial success, but when you have one of India’s most eminent directors, Raakeysh Omprakash Mehra, directing one of the biggest Bollywood stars, Farhan Akhtar, the result can be quite magical.” The ace golfer added.

Talking about his accomplished father, he said that his dad is a remarkable man, with a most inspiring life story. He needed to overcome heavy odds after losing everything at the time of the India-Pakistan Partition as a child to becoming perhaps the most well-known and decorated athlete in India. Moreover, he managed to do that only through determination and dedication.

“I just wanted to share a couple of thoughts about the movie. One, there rarely is Bollywood movie inspired by sports, so I just hope that Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is able to motivate a few of our Indian kids to take up sports as a career. More importantly, I hope it changes the mindset of a few Indian parents and helps them look favorably at sport.” Jeev expects.

Struggling with an year old finger injury, the golfer hopes to recover and give his best soon in forthcoming tournaments.
