Neha Tripathi looks to capitalise on her good form and clinch a second straight victory

19 July, 2016:  Neha Tripathi will look to add to her tally of two titles when she takes the field in the Hero-KGA Women’s Pro Golf Championship 2016 at the scenic Karnataka Golf Association.  The INR 6,00,000 event featuring 15 professionals and three amateurs will commence  on 20th July. Hero Order of Merit leader Vani Kapoor will not be seen in action as she has withdrawn on medical grounds.

Neha is currently placed second in the Hero Order of Merit with total earnings of INR 6,16,433 in nine appearances, and she will look at Vani’s absence as a huge opportunity to top the money list. She hasn’t been in the best of forms in the recent events, and will be eager to make an early impact at the KGA. The youngster from Kolkata, will however have to be wary of the likes of Sharmila Nicollet, Amandeep Drall and Gursimar Badwal.

Panchkula’s Amandeep Drall is placed fourth in the Hero Order of Merit with total earnings of INR 5,13,534 in six appearances, and one title to her name. She has been a consistent performer on the Tour and will look to annex her second win of the year.

Hero MotoCorp sponsored Sharmila Nicollet has struggled to get the ball rolling, and is still searching for her maiden title this season. She would be determined to make amends on her home course and is expected to give the others a run for their money.  Kapurthala golfer Gursimar Badwal is placed third in the Hero Order of Merit with total earnings of INR 5,76,200 in nine appearances, with one win and one runner-up finish to her name. She will be keen to come up with another strong performance and move up the Hero Order of Merit.

Other golfers in the fray are Delhi’s Gauri Monga, Chandigarh’s Saaniya Sharma and Pune’s Shweta Galande. The event will also witness Kolkata’s Siddhi Kapoor making her professional debut on the Tour.

The picturesque par 72 golf course is ready to host the top women professional golfers in the country.
