August 16, 2013 Beauty with brains they say, however, beauty with a sporting talent, describes her better. Bangalore’s sizzling golfing talent, Sharmila Nicollet, 22 is on a forced break due to toe injury and busy making the most out of it.

Nicollet, in an interview to New Indian express, said that she is enjoying every moment of this forced holiday by chilling out with friends and family and sticking to her intense workout routine.

She has been travelling quite a bit in past few years. Nicollet was away for nearly six months last year. Long separation from home and hearth does not go well with her, she says. Her frequent travel interfered with regular schooling and so Nicollet was home-schooled Class VIII onward. “I am like a vagabond,” she laughs. “I live out of a suitcase most of the time.”

Now, that she has some time out of golf course, Nicollet loves to go out swimming, and does some yoga and meditation for mental strength.

“I am a party animal on weekends and that is how I unwind,” she says. There is no time for dating right now given her hectic travel and training schedule.

Then Nicollet has made many sacrifices for the game, including giving up aerated drinks and chocolates, since she was 15. “It was a tough choice between golf and studies since I was good at both,” she says. She chose to forego scholarships from Duke’s and Purdue University in the United States, just to retain her golfing passion.

Golf being her sole passion she wants to become an inspiration for all fashion freak young girls who love sport.

“I want to show that one can look good, be stylish and excel at one’s sport as well. Hopefully, my example will encourage more girls to take up golf professionally,” she says.
