Karnal, June 23, 2014: The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) will stage the second event of its 2014 Feeder Tour season at the Madhuban Meadows Golf Course in Karnal, from June 24 – 26, 2014. The tournament carries a prize purse of Rs. 6 lakh.

 

The tournament at Karnal will have a field of 90 players. The event will be played over three rounds of 18 holes each with the cut being applied after 36 holes.

 

The field at Karnal will feature top Indian professionals such as Arshdeep Tiwana, who hails from the Golden Greens Golf & Country Club in Gurgaon and is a former winner on the Feeder Tour, and Delhi’s Kapil Kumar. The local challenge will be lead by Karnal’s Maniram Sharma, a former Feeder Tour Order of Merit champion. Manav Chandna is the other Karnal-based professional in the field.

 

Maniram Sharma, a three-time winner on the Feeder Tour, shares the record for the highest number of wins on the tour along with Arjun Singh Chaudhri of Noida, the reigning Feeder Tour Order of Merit champion.

 

The winner of the 2014 PGTI Feeder Tour Order of Merit will get an exemption to play on the PGTI in 2015. Akshay Sharma of Chandigarh, the winner of the season’s opening event in Jaipur last week, currently leads the Feeder Tour Order of Merit.

 

A total of six events with prize purse of Rs. 6 lakh each will be played during the 2014 PGTI Feeder Tour season.
