September 24, 2013.The Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) has announced that the PGTI Players Championship presented by Panchkula Golf Club will be held from Sept 24 to Sept 27.

 

Top Indian professionals such as Mukesh Kumar (current Rolex Rankings leader), Shamim Khan (reigning Rolex Rankings champion), Chiragh Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Rashid Khan, Om Prakash Chouhan, Shankar Das, Manav Jaini, Vinod Kumar and Gaurav Ghei will be part of PGTI Players Championship in Panchkula on Tuesday. The tournament offers a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakh.

 

The home grown challege will include, last leg runners up, Sujjan Singh, Harendra Gupta, Abhijit Singh Chadha, Harmeet Kahlon and Ranjit Singh as well as Panchkula’sAngad Cheema among others.

 

Kunal Bhasin (Australia) and Md Zamal Hossain Mollah (Bangladesh) are the top professionals from overseas who will be playing the event.

Brig. I. S. Punia (Retd.), General Manager, Panchkula Golf Club, said, “We thank PGTI for staging the PGTI Players Championship at the Panchkula Golf Club. The renovation on the course is in the final stages with completion of work expected by February-March 2014. The newly-renovated course will present a tough challenge to the professionals.”

 

The Panchkula Golf Club is one of the premier championship courses, is situated on the Ambala-Panchkula-Kalka-Shimla Highway and spread over an area of 135 acres.
