02 November 2018: On a windy day in Okinawa, Rahil Gangjee fell back on his experience and commitment to score a disciplined 71 in the second round of the PGM Championship. The 40-year-old Indian will enter the weekend with a real chance of another top ten finish on the Japan Golf Tour. Shaun Norris shot an impressive 65 to take a two-stroke advantage into the weekend.

Norris is ahead by two over Min-Gyu Cho and a resurgent Y E Yang. The latter shot a spotless 67 on Friday while Cho made a bogey and five birdies in his 68.

In his incredible round of 65, Norris made space for a bogey at the 6th and a double bogey at the 11th hole. He made nine birdies and an eagle on the par-5 18th hole.

Daisuke Kataoka, Seungsu Han, Tomoharu Otsuki and Shugo Imahira were lying in the fourth position at 8-under 136. At 7-under, Ryuko Tokimatsu, Shinji Tomimura and Shih-Chang Chan rounded off the top ten at the halfway stage of the tournament.

Gangjee began his day with a bogey at the par-5 first hole. But back to back birdies helped him erase the loss and get under par for the round. He would make the turn at one under for the round, with six straight pars.

He extended his streak of pars to nine before conceding the second bogey of his round at the 199 yard par-3 13th hole. Gangjee recovered that stroke with a birdie at the 16th hole to sign for a 71 on his card.

The Indian made a 70 in the opening round and at 3-under through 36 holes, he is only four or five strokes from nudging himself into position for a top ten this week.

Gangjee suffered a couple of bogeys yesterday – at the first and seventh holes – but played well to post four birdies in his opening round 70.
