Lahiri surges, tied 10th with Jyoti

October 12, 2013. India’s Anirban finally gathered his momentum and surged to lie at 10th position along with compatriot Jyoti Randhawa. While, rough weather kept hindering the third day’s play at the CJ Invitational hosted by KJ Choi, the game was suspended early on Saturday.

 

Lahiri turned in a three-under 69, while Randhawa shot 73 in third round to join the former in the 10th spot.

 

The 26-year-old, Lahiri (69-76-69) recovered well from his earlier hiccups to shoot a 69, with four birdies on front nine, but he had three bogeys on back nine, besides two more birdies.

Jyoti Randhawa (67-74) who was going strong in the first round, slipped to 10th after shooting another 73 in third.

 

Rahil Gangjee (71-74-74) and Digvijay Singh (71-73-76) are the two others to make the cut. Gangjee is tied 33rd, while Digvijay is tied 38th.

Kang, who played on the US PGA Tour in 2012, took the safe approach in the penultimate round, which paid off as he was bogey-free after 16 holes highlighted by four birdies.

 

The Korean held a three-shot advantage over Rikard Karlberg of Sweden, who finished the round in darkness for a one-under-par 71 while Kim Tae-hoon was on eight-under through 16 holes at the US$750,000 Asian Tour event.

 

Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Kiradech Aphibarnrat of Thailand remained in contention after posting seven-under with two more holes to play at the Haesley Nine Bridges Golf Club on the outskirts of Seoul.

 

The third round will resume at 8am on Sunday with the fourth and final round expected to start at 10am.
