July 13, 2015. Rikard Karlberg of Sweden fired a superb six-under-par 64 to earn a spot at The Open after finishing tied 10th at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open on Sunday.

 

The two-time Asian Tour winner traded seven birdies against one bogey to finish with an eight-under-par 272 total, four shots back from the winner Rickie Fowler of the United States.

 

Karlberg finished tied 10th among five players that are already exempt for The Open and Asian Tour honorary member Y.E, Yang of Korea, with Karlberg securing the qualifying place by virtue of his higher position in the Official World Golf Ranking.

 

Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee ended his campaign with a 70 to finish in tied 31st place on a 275 total while Shiv Kapur of India placed tied 41st.
