Gaganjeet Bhullar restored some pride with an efficient 68 in the final round of the  Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. Keeping with the trend of fluctuating fortunes, the Indian coasted through the outward nine in just 32 strokes and made 36 on his return trip to end the tournament on a positive note. However, bad returns in the first (75) and third (76) rounds meant that Bhullar had to settle for an overall score of 288, 14-over in T73.

Bhullar matched his effort on Friday, when he produced a string of birdies to make the turn at 4-under for the final round. The 26 year old from Kapurthala was in sizzling form, as he made back to back birdies at the 5th & 6th, followed by the 8th & 9th holes.

As in the first round, Bhullar made bogey at the par-4 fourth hole to offer one back to the course. But at even par midway through the final round, Bhullar had raised hopes of a magical round that could hoist him much higher.

However, the back nine proved to be a stern test again – as Bhullar was dented by a pair of bogeys, at the 10th & 14th. The Indian made bogey at the par-4 14th, one of the toughest pins this week, for a third straight day. It took a birdie at the 16th hole to help Bhullar back up to four-over for the week.

Meanwhile,  Jeev Milkha Singh was busy battling the elements and the course as he continued his slide down the pecking order. Singh gave up four shots through 12 holes of the final round and was still on the greens at the time of publishing this report. Shiv Kapur was yet to begin his final round.
