July 13, 2014. Justin Rose scored his fourth straight round in the 60s to clinch a comfortable two stroke victory over  Kristoffer Broberg at the  Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open. The title made it two in two for the Englishman, coming hot on the heels of his victory at the Quicken Loans National. Jeev Milkha Singh, the 2012 winner, had the worst round of his week, a 77 laced with six bogeys to finish 77th.  Shiv Kapur started and ended with a bogey, but made four birdies in between to finish at 3-under and tie for 27th. As reported earlier, Gaganjeet Bhullar salvaged  some pride with a 68 to finish T70.

Rose ensured that he shall be among the favorites next week, with a consummate round of golf, marching to victory with barely a stutter. The 29 year old took just 31 to make the turn – making five birdies before easing to victory with another birdie at the par-5 12th hole. Rose’s 65 gave him a two shot victory over Broberg with 16-under 268.

The Swede conceded a bogey on the par-3 eleventh, but six birdies helped him to 14-under 270, three shots clear of third placed Marc Warren. Phil Mickelson produced a 65 to gain a share of eleventh place alongside Pablo Larrazabal and Danny Willett.

Paul Casey and Rory McIlroy were a further shot behind at 7-under in T14. McIlroy made a 67, while Casey also made a 65 to ensure a good ending to their preparations to the Open at Hoylake next week. Stephen Gallacher produced the best round of the day – a 63 with nine birdies to soar into T4. Felipe Aguilar matched the 63 with a clean round that contained eight birdies and no bogeys.

Among the Indians, Shiv Kapur had the best outing, while Singh and Bhullar slipped into the bottom ten of the leaderboard. Kapur made 2-under 69 in the final round to complete his week at 3-under 281 to join a three way tie for 27th. The 32 year old from Delhi might just be wondering what may have been, but for that 75 in the second round.
