
June 20, 2013. Indians have had a slightly slow start at the Selangor Masters in Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Malaysia. Abhinav Lohan with an even par round is the top Indian on the leader board. Tied 19th, a birdie on the 5th was erased by a bogey on the 8th. Anirban Lahiri made mostly pars along this course, with just one birdie on the par 5 fifth hole. A double bogey on the 9th was a set back and a bogey added up on 15th. He got eight out of nine greens in regulation along the first nine holes. Anirban finished two over par 73.
Also tied 38th Rahil Gangjee wrapped up with a two over par 73. He began his round with a bogey on a par 5 hole but quickly made up with a birdie to follow up. Although the front nine held up with pars for the rest of the holes, the back nine was dotted with some bogeys. Birdies on the 2nd, 12th and 16th helped control the bogey-damage.

C Muniyappa teed off from the 10th hole. His scorecard was quickly injured by a double bogey followed by two consecutive bogeys on the 16th and 17th holes but closer to the end of his round he picked three birdies on the 5th, 6th and 9th par four hole.
Abhijit Singh Chadha finished 55th with a three over par 74, Sujjan Singh four over and Himmat Rai is tied 113th with a six over par 77.
Thailand’s Pariya Junhasavasdikul rediscovered some of his best form to storm into the first round lead with a five-under-par 66 at the Worldwide Holdings Selangor Masters on Thursday.
The 28-year-old, who won his first Asian Tour title in 2010, snared eight birdies against one bogey and a double bogey at a sun baked Seri Selangor Golf Club to lead by one from Korea’s Baek Seuk-hyun in the RM1.2 million (approximately US$400,000) tournament.
