Sharmila Nicollet and Smriti Mehra missed the cut at the Sberbank Golf Masters being held at the Golf Park Plze? – Dýšina in Plze?, Czech Republic. Sharmila posted 77 & 76 in the first two rounds of the tournament. Her 11-over total of 153 left her 116th among 127 golfers. Smriti scored 79 & 84 to finish last at 21-over through two rounds. Frenchwoman Julie Greciet has the lead at 12-under, one better than Ursula Wikstrom.
Sharmila became a regular on the Ladies European Tour last year, when she finished T17th at the Turkish Airlines Ladies Open. But she had no such luck in the Czech Republic. The course has played relatively easy in the first two rounds.
With the cut dropping everyone below par at the end of the second round, the two Indian ladies stood no chance. The 41 year old Smriti finished last among the 127 women recording the highest score this week, through that 84 in the second round.
Nicollet, the 23 year old from Bengaluru, has missed the cut in five of the six events this season on the Ladies European Tour. Her best effort came at the Ladies German Open where she finished with a 283 for T42.
