June 07, 2015: Indian women gave a decent account of their game this week at the Hong Kong Ladies Open on the Old Course at the Hong Kong Golf Club. All five of our entrants made the cut, and even though they could not force their way higher up the order, given the difficulty of the course they should be happy with the outcome. Sharmila Nicollet was the best of the lot, finishing in a tie for 32nd at the LAGT event. Sharmila (77-75-77) finished at 13-over 229, which was nine off the pace at the time of this report.

Jeong Hwa Lee won the title after she shot 71 in the final round for a total of 3-under 213. Kanphanitnan Muangkhumsakul and Yu-Ju Chen were second just a solitary stroke behind the winner.

Neha Tripathi (78-75-78) was just two shots behind Sharmila at 15-over 231. Vani Kapoor (80-79-76) was progressively better through the week, but her final score of 235 was only enough for a tie in 54th.

Gauri Monga began with promise, but a second round 83 set her back. Monga (75-83-77) ended her tournament right alongside Vani in T54.

Amandeep Drall was steady through the three rounds, but never really figured the Old Course. Drall shot 80-79-80 in the three rounds to finish in T61 with an overall score of 239.

Nicollet took 39 shots for the first nine including a birdie at the 2nd hole and three bogeys. The back nine turned out be even more eventful with the Indian carding six bogeys and two birdies to close with a 77.

Neha shot 78 in the final round with four bogeys, a triple bogey at the 14th hole and her lone birdie came at the par-5 17th hole. Vani shot three bogeys, a double and a birdie at the first hole to score 76 in round three.

Half a dozen bogeys and a birdie at the 16th accounted for a closing 77 by Monga.
