Aug 22, 2013. India’s Shiv Kapur produced a stellar round of 66, playing some great golf at the Rolex Trophy tournament on the European Challenge Tour to finish today’s play six under 212. The third round has been spectacular for the 32 year old as he started with a clutch of four birdies on the front nine. Currently on the 15th hole, his game has been without a blemish and he has recorded two more birdies on the 12th, 15th and 18th to end it in style.

Delhi boy Kapur has been displaying some strong form of late after a bout of training with Alberto Binaghi in Italy. At the recently held Finnish Challenge, Kapur was T18. He is currently in Europe playing on the Challenge Tour after he won the Kensville event earlier in Jan 2013 on home turf.

The Rolex Trophy, one of the European Challenge Tour’s most prestigious events, will be aiming for a hat-trick of hat-trick winners this year after the past two winners of the event secured automatic promotion to The European Tour as a result of their victories.

The last two editions of the Rolex Trophy have proven worthy of the lucrative event, which first took place in the augural year of the Challenge Tour in 1989, as Kristoffer Broberg secured the title in 2012 to make it three wins in just five tournaments, creating history in the process.
