June 29, 2016:  Martin Kaymer believes he is coming into form at just the right time as he prepares to tee it up at the 100th Open de France this week at Le Golf National. Shiv Kapur and SSP Chawrasia are the two Indians in action this week.

The two men will hope for an improved outing on the European Tour when they tee off in Paris tomorrow. Both men have afternoon starts – shiv will start his round at 1240 CET while Chawrasia will get off the blocks at 1400 CET.

Chawrasia was tied 27th at the BMW PGA Championship and finished T50 at the BMW International last week. In his eleventh European Tour event this week, the 190th ranked golfer has won the Hero Indian Open earlier this season. He has also missed the cut in five events.

Kapur is making his 10th start of the season, with his top ten finish at the Indian Open the best result of the season. He has also finished T11 in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship in January this year.

The German was already a two-time winner on the European Tour but he catapulted himself into public consciousness in 2009 when he won here before following that up with another victory at the Barclays Scottish Open the very next week.

Since then he has gone on to win two Major Championships, a Race to Dubai, three Ryder Cups and spend a spell as the Number One player in the Official World Golf Ranking.

The 31 year old is also coming into some form with three top ten finishes in his last four events, and believes he could be on the verge of something special again.

“I’m fine with the results because I know why things worked out the way they did,” he said. “Now, fortunately, I found a good rhythm in my game, and it’s just a matter of time that I will be there where I want to be.

“I think it’s a good time to peak now. It will help if there are massive tournaments coming up and showing some signs for The Ryder Cup would help as well. Because obviously you can never really rely on a wild card, and I don’t want to be relying on that. I would rather play my way into the team.”
